What Every Business Owner Needs to Know About Google Plus

If your website is not producing leads or not enough of them, there are 2 main things you need to know to get your site attracting new customers.

1. Page Content – Every page needs to focus on 1 keyword phrase. Then you need to write your page content including 15-20 key ingredients Google looks for and are enticing to your site visitor. Without proper content, Google will not know what your page is about and either will your potential customers.

2. Inbound Links – Links within your site and inbound links from quality sites have always been a valuable part of getting your site pages ranked on Google. Links are like votes. Relevant links from reputable sites indicate that your website content must be worthy of outranking your competitors.

So page content and inbound links are the key to success online for every business. If you want clarity on the formula for your business, grab the free ebook above.

Google Plus, Google Plus Local and Google Places and What You Need to Know

Google Places and Maps has been around for a few years. Google provides 5 keyword categories for your Places page and no more than 15 words making up those 5 categories and no more than 4 words for any single category. That means if you have 4 words in one category, you need to add 2 words to another category. For example – executive suite rental agency = 4 words, furnished offices = 2 words. A tip is to try and use a different word among the 15 you are allowed. Think keyword combinations. How many keyword combinations can be created just with – executive suite rental agency and furnished offices? At least 20. Follow the formula and the results grow exponentially providing hundreds of ways your customers can search to find you.

Google provided this tool for a reason. They know the majority of people search for what they want in their local area. This means, the more ways you can found in local markets the more customers you will attract. There is a simple formula for getting your local results to appear ahead of your competitors. One way is to use Google Places, Plus and Plus local aligned with your website.

I am seeing extraordWhat Every Business Owner Needs to Know About Google Plusinary results for my clients when the program is built properly. The first step is to set up your Google Places page utilizing as many relevant descriptive keywords and geographic terms as possible. Google is not a mind reader, you have you provide the appropriate information.

The next step is to set up your Google Plus Page and Google Local page. Keep all your descriptions and keywords exact and relevant. When you upload photos, create a description using your Google Places Citation (business name, address and phone number exactly as it appears in your places account).

Google Plus is a social network like Facebook but with robust features. You can update with social messages (posts), upload photos and imbed your YouTube videos. You can even make videos using Google Hangout on Air.

The biggest benefit is how Google ranks your business when using these tools properly. If you want to grow your business of any size whether 1 employee or 1,000, Google Plus, Places and Local are the biggest opportunity I’ve seen in a long time. I seriously suggest you get started today, right now. However to make it work your web pages and blog posts need to follow the simple content formula outlined in www.nichequestformula.com .

If you need help or have questions, post them here or at our Google Plus page and I’ll help you with what your need to know about capturing new customers with Google Plus and Local.

How To Get Customers With Your Website

Their are very few businesses that get a continual flow of leads from their online marketing investment. Most don’t know the internet can deliver more business that they can handle online. Those who know how are experiencing huge growth and are expanding into niche markets they never dreamed possible. If you want to know how to get customers with your website, you need to start at the beginning.

In the video here I discuss with Adam Levine the founder of WrapIt Gift Bags how easy it is to get new customers from a website when you know how. I met Adam at a Ryan Lee event in Stamford CT. Ryan Lee is a hugely successful online coach. Adam was in the process of bringing his new product to market and looking for ways to reach his target customer online.

Adam and I discussed online strategies that he never knew were possible. For example, Adam mentioned an upcoming gift trade show at the Javitt Center Center. Yes, there is a trade show for everything. I gave Adam a unique idea that he could capitalize on, very quickly and easily. The concept was this. People would be coming from all over the country to attend the NY NOW Gift Show. Everyone wants to know where to park, eat and a hotel nearby. To find the answer to these questions, most people will search online.

Sure enough, there was zero online competition for search terms like Restaurants near the NY NOW Gift Show. Try searching that phrase on Google and you’ll find WrapIt Gift Bags.

Adam went from knowing absolutely zero to an online marketing wizz in no time once he knew how the internet works and specifically what it takes to rank on the top of a Google search.

If you want to get new customers with your website, even more than you can handle, you need to know the basics. Once you master the basics, everything else online will start to produce for you including all the social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Google Plus, You Tube. Then you just replicate. It’s that easy.

Buy NYC Domain Names – The New Internet for New Yorkers

Before developing my internet marketing business I specialized in selling small buildings on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I was with a boutique firm who had developed a unique strategy and business system targeting neighborhoods from the Wall Street area up through Harlem and all the niche markets in between. Each sales agent specialized in a geographic area comprised of 350 property owners which in most cases was approximately 20 blocks x 3 blocks. For example 66th Street – 86th Street Fifth Avenue to Lexington Avenue.

We found through trial and error that larger markets diluted each agents efforts and productivity dropped. Smaller markets didn’t produce enough sales. The sweet spot was 350 owners. Then, by becoming the local expert, we had the knowledge and relationships to build a nice niche business.

This concept provided a very unique, in depth view of New York neighborhoods. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens or Staten Island are all driven by local niches. This paradigm is why it will be critical for small to mid sized businesses to buy NYC domain names to brand their businesses and capitalize on search engine optimization, social media and word of mouth marketing.

Buy NYC Domain Names and Capitalize on Hyperlocal Marketing

Search engines like Google and Bing will reward a local business with prime search results who have a www.domain.nyc. However, in a hyperlocal environment, search engine marketing and social media feed off each other and so does offline word of mouth.

There’s a lot of power when you tell a prospect “check out my site at www.eastsiderealestate.nyc or www.tribecaplumber.nyc”. On social media you can create a community around the domain name and certainly, Google likely will give precedence to a local business with the niche domain.

Short Messages – How 1 Client Attracted a $1.3 Million Sale

Short Messages - How 1 Client Attracted a $1.3 Million Sale

Short Messages – The Foundation of All Marketing

Short Messages - How 1 Client Attracted a $1.3 Million Sale
Short Messages – How 1 Client Attracted a $1.3 Million Sale

Everyone is using short messages on websites, social media, TV to be heard and recognized. But mostly it’s just a lot of white noise that doesn’t produce anything. In NicheQuest Formula I show numerous examples of short messages and how they convert to sales. It all starts with Google.

The basis of Google is content and content starts with titles and short messages. The title indicates what the page is about, you’re content needs to closely follow the title. If you’ve achieved this, the probability of converting to a lead or sale is increased.

If you take a look at the paid ads on the top of Google page, you will see ads that are short messages. The more closely relevant the page is to the ad, the higher the conversion to sale. With this in mind, every time we create any content, we need to think about our title first. Every page, blog, tweet is a form of an ad with a link to a corresponding page. The formula is to start with what works on Google first. If it works on Google, it will work on social media, videos, articles, press releases and offline word of mouth.

How Short Messages Created a Golden $1.3 Million Sale

Short MessagesChewelah Painting in Spokane Washington had a website for 7 years that never produced a single sale. It was nothing but an online business card. Turning that site (or any site) into a producer requires breaking down services to a series of niche markets   ( short messages ) from an overall niche of painting and remodeling. (This is the base strategy for every business)

If you look at the site now, you will see Chewelah Painting provides interior and exterior painting, wood deck staining, log home staining and refinishing, concrete floor painting and epoxy coatings, roof coatings, window, cabinet and door staining and painting. This strategy is aligned with the Google model of niche driven short messages supported with highly relevant content. The result is a high quality user experience and a $1.3 million sale from an internet search.

The $1.3 Million project came from a search for the short message Spokane Roof Painter. The owner Mike Bellevue and I never thought of optimizing the phrase roof painter, but it ranks #1 on a Google search (see below). Google recognized the relevance of a web page titled, Roofing Contractors linked to Exterior Painting Contractors. As it turned out, the client owns 109 Pizza Huts which are metal roofs. In the owners mind he needed someone who is a roof painter.

This is happening every minute online. Our clients are continually searching specifically for what they want via short messages. Successful marketing starts with websites broken down by niche within your business. Web Pages tell the overall story while blogs allow you to drill down deeper into your product or services. Then, convey short messages on your blog and web pages via social media, email newsletters, videos, photos and articles. This strategy will enable you to craft a story and stories sell, they are memorable. It all starts with short messages.

Short Messages Begin With Google

Google Hangout is an amazing communication tool for attracting new site visitors, getting them engaged and converting them to loyal customers. There’s a massive amount of opportunity here. (The Blog post you are reading and the Google hangout Video below took 30 minutes. Then I sent the post to a prospect and closed a sale).

It’s Free!

If you have never used Google Hangout, it’s a free video communication tool. You can invite up to 9 people on a video call. Each person on the call will appear in a thumbnail video frame at the bottom of the page and a typical video size frame above. The person who initiates the hangout will appear first in the large video frame and others will appear as they speak. It’s fun and a great way to create natural appearing video conferences, interviews to sell products and services.

Immediate Results

The hangouts can be recorded and will upload to your YouTube Channel immediately. If you know the NicheQuest Formula, you can optimize the Hangout on YouTube and for organic search on Google. Then, if you write a relevant blog post, you can create a link from YouTube directly to your blog post and imbed the code on your blog post as well.

Staying true to the NicheQuest Formula (NQF) you can post the blog on all your social media sites with just a few clicks.

Google Hangouts are a great step towards your video marketing.

Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents – Case Study

Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents

Hyper Local Marketing – Cogent Realty Of NYC

Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents
Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents

Hyper Local marketing is perfectly aligned with the new algorithm change by Google called Hummingbird. If you are unfamiliar with Hummingbird click here. Hyper Local marketing is without a doubt, the most effective way to attract new customers for real estate agents. Cold calling and networking, the staples of marketing for real estate agents, becomes turbo charged with a hyper local marketing strategy.

The Cogent Realty of NYC Hyper Local Marketing Strategy

Mitch Waldman is the owner of Cogent Realty in NYC. Cogent specializes in commercial office leasing in downtown New York and mid town with a focus on tenant representation. His target market are companies with office space requirements ranging primarily from 1,000 – 15,000 square feet. Though Cogent has the expertise to handle large projects, it becomes very tough to compete against the large commercial companies for big corporate accounts.

Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents
Hyper Local Marketing For Real Estate Agents

Utilizing a blog, the goal with Hyper Local Marketing is to post very in depth information on his blog about the his target market. The goal is to become a giver of valuable information as it applies to specific geographic locations in NYC.

Information about the market downtown or uptown is easy to find anywhere. But how about the market for Class A or B space near Penn Station as it compares to similar space 10 blocks south near  a neighborhood called Penn South or near Chelsea Park. To a commuter, an office location near Penn Station might be valuable. To someone who lives in Chelsea, an office near Chelsea Park might be a top consideration.

This kind of information is extremely valuable and a great way for Cogent to brand themselves as the best information resource for companies looking for “The Right Space at The Right Price”, the Cogent Realty slogan.

The reason Hyper Local marketing for real estate agents is so important is that consumers are continually searching for in depth information as it pertains to what they want. Google has rewritten their algorithms to respond to consumer demand. Online search is consumer driven marketing. Consumers, like you and me, search for what we want. When we find it we stick. This is what converts to new customers and sales. It’s a game changer.

Hyper Local Marketing for Real Estate Agents following the formula that Google has designed also becomes your social media strategy. For example, Cogent could write a blog post titled Office Leasing Prices Per Square Foot near Penn Station and Chelsea Park NYC or Office Leasing in Loft Buildings For Technology Companies Near Union Square NYC. These 2 titles have a tremendous amount of opportunity for Cogent to attract new clients.

  1. Google Rank – Both titles have numerous keywords and geographic places. Each blog can be found from deep searches many ways. 1 Effort – Exponential Results. The Google Algorithm change makes hyper local marketing for real estate agents an unprecedented opportunity.
  2. Social Media – Each Title is a social media message. Work your blog with niche phrases. This will boost your brand. Word of mouth is powerful marketing but always start with what works on Google first. This is where most people fail with social media. They don’t have a plan and make nothing but white noise.
  3. NicheQuest Formula – This course teaches how to get those pages ranked on Google. You may already be making the effort without results. This course shows how. Click Here NicheQuest Formula

Google Creates Hummingbird – What It Means and How You Can Attract More Customers

Google Creates Hummingbird

Google Creates Hummingbird – Largest Algorithm Change and How You Can Capitalize

Google Creates Hummingbird
Google Creates Hummingbird

A New York Times article September 26 provided an excellent accounting of the new Google Hummingbird algorithm change and what it means. Basically Keyword Matching has been replaced with semantic search which has been the core of the Google strategy since the beginning of the search engine.

Keywords will still be at the core of search. But to attract new customers and rank at the top of the search results will require the use of quality content, high quality relevant links within a web site and high quality, relevant content from high Page Rank external sources such as sites like Squidoo, Hub Pages, PR Web and combined with social media. To succeed going forward requires creating what I outline in my recent course www.nichequestformula.com.

What Doesn’t Work

I get the same calls you do from SEO predators who sell that they can get you ranked on the first page of Google. Basically, they charge a monthly fee and submit via software programs, your site to tons of sites with a click of a button. That does not work, it’s called link farming and those days are over. Randomly written web pages will not work. Just because you think it’s a nicely written page does not make it quality. Googles search engine is programmed to determine page quality. There are 20-30 key things that I know will get great results that are part of creating a quality page and many more that I don’t know.  If a web page or blog (or articles, YouTube Descriptions, Photo Descriptions) is just randomly written, even by a great writer, it likely will not rank. Even a page or blog written by Hemmingway may not rank. I might add that any method of trying to maniplulate Google and other search engines will not work.

What Produces Results That Attract New Customers

The core of the Hummingbird Algorithm is quality. Quality to a search engine is content with a target keyword in it’s title with content that follows the title. Content needs to be relevant to the title and follow through the body of the page. Each page requires an H1 Tag and ideally an H2 and H3. You need a title tag that begins with target keyword and a meta description that includes and ideally begins with target keyword.

I have found that target keyword density of 2% is ideal as well. This means using the target keyword 2 times for every 100 words. If you follow this density, you will find that you will be forced to use synonyms in the content. Other important words to use are pronouns, adjectives and relevant geography.

Links within your content to other relevant pages within your site are extremely important. Keep in mind a web. Take a look at Wikipedia to see great pages and the use of links.

It’s critical to understand the use of keyword combinations to succeed online. This actually is very simple and is at the core of results I have been seeing for a long time. Ranking at the top of a Google search for a prime keyword WILL NOT produce results. Hummingbird has been programmed to understand the relevance of keywords with search results that answer complex consumer queries or searches.

Keyword Combination Samples

Google Creates Hummingbird Algorithm
Google Creates Hummingbird Algorithm

The first thing I tell clients is not to focus on trying to rank for a general keyword. The phone book is gone. People don’t search that way online. General keywords are very competitive and frequently do not convert to sales as well as deep complex queries. Your customers search for what they want. It’s almost impossible to know exactly how your customers will search. So the answer is to build a strategy capitalizing on keyword combinations.

Let me explain. A client of mine provides a unique flooring service. Without the internet he would never be able to reach the market to get enough business to survive. So we implemented a geographic strategy  targeting the marketplace from Providence to Boston to Cape Cod To Fall River and Back to Providence. We put together a 10 page website and a blog strategy utilizing every variation of words and places that describe his services.

The result is a site that over an 18 month period went from zero to 2,000 visitors per month. That’s a lot of quality traffic for a business that sells floors for $5,000 – $100,000 each. The result was an increase in revenue of something like 600%. He dominates the market online.

What is most significant is that the most searched keyword phrase that attracted site visitors was searched only 10 times. If he ranked #1 on Google for just that keyword, he would never get enough business. But what is even more significant is that 1,950 visitors to the site came from a different search. When looking at the keyword phrases in Google Analytics I can see that the visitors are searching more complex queries than just a keyword. They were asking Google questions. Google became the answer man and this site delivered.

So this client ranks for at least 1,950 ways from a 10 page site and about 50 blogs written over an 18 month period.

The formula was quality page content as I explained above, internal links and a few high quality links from article directories. The strategy taught Google what this client does and where. Bingo! We hit the bullseye.

That’s SEO or search engine optimization the Hummingbird way.

NicheQuest Formula Case Studies

Here’s a great example. PowerSPACE & Services in NYC specializes in renting furnished office space, conference rooms, meeting rooms and virtual offices at 3 Manhattan locations each in a different zip code. When analyzing the business strategy and what a client wants, we determined that their target clients are not looking for a furnished office in NYC but in specific locations in NYC or near transportation, near something specific like where they lived.

So the plan was to work with an inventory of keywords that relate to furnished offices like short term, temporary, workspaces, executive suites. Then I looked at the geography. What is in the neighborhood of each location?

One area we targeted is Silicon Alley. NYC has seen an explosive growth of new technology companies with the majority setting up shop in Silicon Alley an area near NYU, Union Square, Greenwich Village, Chelsea and many other locations and places south of Mid Town. These keywords became our inventory of keyword ammo.

So, one of our blogs was titled Furnished Office Space For Rent in Silicon Alley NYC. If you look at the phrase, you will find 4 keywords and 2 Geo keywords. In the body of the blog I used synonyms and various geographic areas not just in the blog but also in the Meta Description. What this produced was lots of potential keyword combinations and complex query results. I also went back into many website pages and created links from various pages and blog posts as well as 1 external inbound link. The result was at least 30 search results on Google from 1 blog post. Just imagine if I spent a few hours explaining the PowerSPACE business to you, then asked you random questions. You’d have many answers. Hummingbird Algorithm becomes very natural as a result. You see, the only way to manipulate search engines in the new Hummingbird world is to create high quality content. The scam players are going to fall, quality and honesty are going to prevail. The internet is poised for rapid improvement and huge growth thanks to Hummingbird.

Here’s an Example – This one blog not only dominates page 1 of a Google search but ranks for at least 30 different queries that I found. 1 effort, numerous results. It also helps secure PowerSPACE as one of the most prominent furnished office space providers in NYC. Tip – Learn from Google how to create high converting social media messages and word of mouth marketing.

Here’s Another Example

How Chewelah Painting and Remodeling Got a $1.3 Million Project from Their Website

When I started working with Mike Bellevue of Spokane Washington I asked the typical questions, what do you do and where do you do it?  The first answer was we do interior and exterior painting and remodeling. So I dug a little deeper. What kinds of properties do you work on, what do you paint? After a few questions I learned that he refinishes log homes, a big ticket item, commercial roof coatings, exterior painting and staining and lots more in Spokane Washington area. One of the pages I targeted was with the keyword phrase Roofing Contractors and another was Exterior Painting Contractors. In fact I created about 10 pages plus a blog strategy.

Within approximately 120 days from launch of his site Mike received a call from the owner of a chain of Pizza Hut restaurants. Mike was hired for 5 roofing projects at once totaling about $60,000 in new business. Nice call. Then about 5 weeks later the owner called to tell Mike how happy they were with his companies work. They said we have 109 roofs to do like the first 5 and they’d like to know if he wanted to do them all. Great story about the callibre of business online.

But what was interesting is the way they found Mike. They searched Spokane roof painter on Google. We never, ever thought about the keyword phrase roof painter and no keyword tool indicated that someone might search this phrase. By following the NicheQuest Formula, we created quality pages and linked them together based on close relevance. I guess we can say that Hummingbird was at work  Roofing Contractor + Exterior Painting Contractor = Spokane Roof Painter and a $1.3 Million dollar project off a Google search.

How to Create a Sales Blog For Local Markets

How To Create A Sales Blog For Local Markets
How To Create A Sales Blog For Local Markets

How To Create A Sales Blog

Local online marketing is fairly simple in theory. Basically you need pages written around a specific keyword phrase and inbound links from quality sources for the pages to rank on the search engines.

In most local markets the competition for ranking is fairly low. However since more and more companies everyday are flocking to the internet for marketing exposure, the competition is getting tougher.

It’s important to understand that a website cannot survive with just a 5 page site, ranking well for a few keywords. Keyword diversity among many pages is the solution. It’s also important to understand that niche businesses such as a painter, plumber, roofer, chiropractor, orthodonist, divorce lawyer all perform better online than a general practitioner.

A law firm with many specialties or a general contractor usually have a difficult time performing. The main reason is that there are too many keywords relevant to what they do. Where a painter could have 50-75 pages to a website, a general contractor might need 1,000 pages since their business is made up of so many services.

As mentioned, just a few high ranking pages around a few keywords will not perform in a local market. Google provides results based on queries. An example to explain this point is a client who gets 1500 monthly visits. You might think that there is 1 keyword that is searched 500 times and 5-6 keyword phrases that are searched 200 times to get that result.

The answer is the key to optimization and online marketing. The real result is that the most searched keyword phrase produces a whooping 10 visits of 1,500. The next might be 7, a few get 2-5 monthly visits and over 1,300 of those visits are each from a different search. The only way to achieve this level of diverse search results is by creating many relevant keywords on your site. The way to achieve this is by using blogs. Blogs add pages and keywords to a site.

As a result, you could never get that 1,500 visits from a 5 page site in a local market. The only way is through a broad range of well written content using relevant keywords. This is what is referred to General Semantics.

What Is General Semantics

How To Create A Sales Blog For Local Markets
How To Create A Sales Blog For Local Markets

The Random College House Dictionary Definition is – An educational discipline originated by Alfred Korzybski and concerned with the improvement of human behavior by means of the function of words and non verbal symbols.

Understand this definition and you understand search engine optimization. Keyword Phrases and photos/video are the ammunition of online marketing. Fairly simple.

Do’s – Web Pages portray your message, blogs expand keyword diversity. Create valuable (explained later)  blog content targeting a specific keyword for each page supported with relevant keywords, photos, video and links to relevant pages (within your own site or to other sites).Yes, it’s ok to create links to other sites. Be a giver, not a taker.

Don’t – Do not think that random worthless content with keywords works. Google knows everything. If you think you’re clever, you’re mistaken. Google knows what you search, they know when spam tools are used. The only way to succeed online is t do it right. Keep in mind that any site or marketing business that thinks they can manipulate Google will fail.

Do not spin content. Do not use link building tools that create massive amounts of phantom links. Do not create fictitious reviews (many lawsuits coming).

How to Create A Sales Blog for Local Markets

I’m currently working on a series of videos and a workbook that explains the many strategies. For today, I’m going to explain one.  Keeping the above content in mind, let’s look at a strategy for getting a local painter to rank online. This client is www.ctyankeepainting.com.

Painting is a very competitive local business. Online ranking requires finding the keyword phrases where they can rank. So keyword research is step 1. Since the business is located in Fairfield County Connecticut we need to find the right towns to target along with the right keywords.

Here is a List of Towns

  1. Trumbull
  2. Easton
  3. Weston
  4. Wilton
  5. New Canaan
  6. Fairfield
  7. Southport
  8. Westport
  9. Darien
  10. Greenwich

List of Keywords

  1. House Painter
  2. House Painters
  3. Painting Contractor
  4. Interior Painter
  5. Exterior Painters
  6. Home Painter
  7. Deck Refinishing
  8. Deck Staining Contractor

The strategy for a painter is ideally to get ranked for every combination of the listed 8 keywords in each of 10 towns.

Building an online presence is like building a business. It takes a step at a time. Google rewards those who regularly add content to their site. As a result 1 new blog per week is a strategy that produces new rankings. We also want to use our target keyword approximately 2 – 2.5 times per 100 words. We also want to use additional keywords in the content that are relevant to the target keyword for each page.

Sample Relevant Keywords

  1. Interior and Exterior Deck Staining
  2. Power Washing
  3. Window Painting
  4. Deck Waterproofing
  5. Fence Painting and Staining
  6. Cabinet Painting and Refinishing
  7. Paint Colors
  8. House Staining

Photos and Videos

In the beginning of this article we looked at the the definition of General Semantics. Words and symbols create influence. Photos and videos should be relevant to the content. I find it’s usually better to choose photos first, the create the content.

How To Create a Sales Blog for Local Markets

To avoid creating duplicate content we need to have enough to write about to create a different blog for each town. In this case, we’ll target the keyword phrase House Painters in Weston Ct. This variation has only 10 competing online pages.

An easy strategy is to choose a photo of a nice home exterior photo and 1 interior photo. Then create a 200-300 word page summarizing a painters services. Bullet points are a very effective tool to use. Use the keyword in the Title of the blog, first sentence, the middle of the page and the end.  Ideally we’ll create 1 blog post for each town using variations of our core keyword. For example, painter, painters, painting, Home, house, interior, exterior.

We’ll create blogs targeting each town publishing 1 each week for 10 weeks. Then we’ll move onto another keyword which will target all 10 towns again. This may seem like a fair amount of work but should only take 30-45 minutes for each blog.

The results if done properly will be excellent. In the next post we’ll go over some easy methods for ensuring that your content gets picked up by Google.

Google Places Integrates with Google+

Google Places Integrates with Google+

Today, Google made the announcement that Google Places integrates with Google+. This creates Google+ Local, their newest social local search experience that will spread across Google Places for Business, Google+, Google Search and Google’s mobile search. It uses Zagat ratings and Google+ connections. This new creation gives businesses a chance to make their local search presence more social.

Google said “business owners will continue to manage their local listings the same way, using Google Places for business”.

Google Places Integrates with Google+ | “Huge Advantage…”

“As Google Places integrates with Google+ it will be a huge advantage to our local and national clients.” Said David Gagnon, Co-founder of NicheQuest Inc. “We have always had the philosophy that what you do for a client off the website is just as important as what you do for them on their website. This recent addition of Google Places for Business into Google+ is a huge advantage for our clients”

Google Places Integrates with Google+ | “Adapt or die…”

“Their are so many local business owners who do not have the time, training or experience to keep up with all the changes in the internet marketing world.” Said Ed Winslow, Co-founder of NicheQuest Inc. “We help owners all the time who realize they must adapt or die in the digital world. Evey time something changes, the uniformed fall further behind those who adapt to the changing market. At NicheQuest, we pride ourselves on keeping our clients programs evolving to keep ahead of their competition”

“Google seems to be making Google+ a much bigger part of the local search equation. This is the best way Google has to have Google+ continue to compete with Facebook” said Gagnon.

We have heard a multitude of questions from Local Business owners about this change. A Google spokesperson provided the following response to these common questions.

Will businesses have to be on Google+ to be listed in Google Places when Google Places Integrates with Google+?

“Much of the information from a business owners’ Google Place page – such as the business address, phone number, description, and Google reviews, and photos submitted by business owners and users – will automatically be ported over to the upgraded local Google+ page.”

“People used to be able to find information about a business on the Google Places page, but now, they’ll find much of that same information on the local Google+ page and enjoy the added ability to share that information with the people in their Google+ Circles. This means that a business listing that could previously be found across Google Search, Google Maps, and Google Maps for mobile is still available in all those places, but is now also more easily discoverable to the millions of users on Google+ as well.”

Will users have access to the same info from Google Places that they always have, if they do not have Google+ accounts?

“We encourage people to sign-in to Google+, as it will provide the best experience possible across Google. For example, if you sign-in, Google+ Local shows the recommendations from your friends and the Google+ community, and you can share your own experiences. You will also get free access to the full Zagat scores and reviews, and results will be tailored to your interests and location. People who choose not to sign-in to Google+ get all same information they could before, including basic information like a business address and phone number, as well as Google user reviews, maps, etc. They will also see Zagat score highlights and review snippets.”

When Google Places Integrates with Google+Is the Google Places name going away?

“Google Places for Business remains the place business owners should go to manage their local listing. Over the coming months, we’ll enable easier management of a business’ presence across Google, whether a business owner is posting on his local Google+ page or updating his local listing. A single page through which businesses can manage their online presence is a top priority, and we’re committed to ensuring business owners have a clear voice in how their business is represented on Google, via Google+.”
